All-Female Board of S&T: Magdalena Taczanowska Appointed as CEO

Magdalena Taczanowska is a career-long veteran of S&T and its legal predecessors in Poland. She started out her career in 1989 in ICL Poland as 18-year old secretary, later moved to sales department and held more senior positions. Since 1989 she managed team of salespeople and IT experts. In 2002 Ms. Taczanowska was promoted to sales director and in 2003 – to member of the board of S&T. Since 2008 she has been responsible for infrastructure solutions and has supervised staff of more than 100 (out of 350 employees of S&T).

According to Christian Weiland, regional director at S&T AG (also overseeing Poland), selection of Magda Taczanowska as CEO of Polish branch of S&T was based on her long tenure with the firm, in-depth knowledge of the company, sound market insights, accomplishments in managing of sales team, and – mostly – on her ability to develop and implement the strategic vision of S&T development in Poland, that is coherent with opinions of Vienna headquarters.

Ms. Taczanowska said that managing the team, which she co-founded, and participated in its work and life for 18 years, would be a high call, and – at the same time – logical step in her professional development: “It is much easier for me, as a company veteran, to grasp all issues, contacts, and matters from the past, while – thanks to new arrivals to the firm – I can constantly catch up with the latest market developments. Besides, combining tradition and modern trends has always been a part of our corporate culture. Good work atmosphere prevails in our firm, employees and managers support one another, since we all know that success and accomplishing strategic goals for years to come is possible only with joint effort”.

Magdalena Taczanowska is a graduate of Main School of Commerce (SGH) in Warsaw (management and marketing), and Business School – National Louis University in Nowy Sącz (MBA). She speaks fluent English. Ms. Magda Taczanowska (37) is a mother of three daughters, and is interested in huna, Hawaiian knowledge and life philosophy.
